About trAIce

Economic truth for teams building and using AI

trAIce is an AI cost management platform for teams that build AI into products and teams that buy AI tools for employees. It connects usage to customers, features, workflows, teams, employees, agents, and outcomes so engineering, product, and finance can work from the same evidence.

Why trAIce exists

Provider dashboards show useful totals. Gateways and observability tools show request activity. Neither view alone explains which customer, feature, workflow, or employee created the cost, what outcome the spend produced, or whether a proposed optimization appeared in the final bill. trAIce was built to make those economic relationships measurable and defensible.

How the product works

The hosted service receives bounded usage evidence after model calls, so it does not need to become a hosted gateway in the request path. Teams can preserve provider identifiers, token classes, pricing evidence, and business context, then calculate cost per customer, feature, successful outcome, or team. Optional exact caching runs locally in the SDK and fails open to the provider.

Operating principles

We separate provider telemetry, calculated estimates, and reconciled billing evidence. We keep unattributed cost visible instead of forcing it into an arbitrary bucket. We treat failed calls, retries, tools, and evaluation overhead as part of the cost of an outcome. We describe current behavior directly and do not claim that a dashboard estimate is invoice truth.

Prompt and output capture is off by default. When teams explicitly enable sampled evidence for controlled model comparisons, retention is bounded and documented.
